Cupping

It really helped my back, especially under my shoulder blades, but since cupping, I'm fighting a cold. Any correlation?

Why does one thing lead to another?
by: Jonathan Clogstoun-Willmott

Several possible reasons come to mind!

1/ You got cold or exposed yourself for too long while cupping, making yourself more susceptible to any stray cold virus in your vicinity

2/ Your back pain was actually caused by an old cold 'energy' which cupping released. If this were the case, you would have suppressed your cold symptoms at an earlier time, possibly months, even years, ago. If so, let the cold run - don't suppress it. (See my page on Suppression.)

3/ You already had a cold when doing the cupping but the symptoms had yet to appear. Sometimes people feel more positive and energetic and do more (such as decide finally to 'sort' your back by cupping it!?) the day before the cold symptoms strike. This is actually your body gearing up for the fight, stimulated by the invasion of an exterior pathogenic factor. This 'revving up' makes you feel good - until the next day.
