We recognize that your privacy is important.
This document outlines the types of personal information we receive and collect when you use acupuncture-points.org, as well as some of the steps we take to safeguard information.
We hope this will help you make an informed decision about sharing personal information with us.
acupuncture-points.org strives to maintain the highest standards of decency, fairness and integrity in all our operations. Likewise, we are dedicated to protecting our customers’, consumers’ and online visitors’ privacy on our website.
We make sure by using a double opt-in method.
However, for Patients it’s different
If you are a patient of Jonathan Clogstoun-Willmott or the Edinburgh Natural Health Centre, or ask for help through a query box on this site, our Patient Data Protection Policy has to be slightly different.
For the full explanation of our position, go to https://www.acupuncture-points.org/data-protection-policy.html
acupuncture-points.org collects personally identifiable information from the visitors to our website only when they volunteer it. Personal information collected on this voluntary basis may include name, postal address, email address, company name, country from which you apply, IP address and telephone number. What we collect depends on the information you supply.
This information is collected if you
- request information or
- download material (eg books) directly from us (as distinct from information you provide to Amazon when buying books advertised on this site but which you obtain via Amazon or Kindle – that information is not available to us),
- participate in a contest or sweepstakes,
- and sign up to join our email list or
- request some other service or information from us.
The information collected is internally reviewed, and used to improve the content of our website, notify our visitors of updates, and respond to visitor inquiries.
Once information is reviewed, we discard it or store it in our files. If we make material changes in the collection of personally identifiable information, we will inform you by placing a notice on our site.
Personal information received from any visitor will be used only for internal purposes and will NOT be sold or provided to third parties.

Release of Information
If acupuncture-points.org is sold, the information we have obtained from you through your voluntary participation in our site may transfer to the new owner as a part of the sale in order that the service being provided to you may continue. How You Can Correct or Remove Information
If you are a patient…
Updates and Effective Date
Re Questions you ask us
If you request information or help through one of the query boxes on this site we shall reply to your request but your information is not kept or stored in any way (unless you are or become a patient) except as a copy of your request or subsequent correspondence between you and us.
Re our mailing list or downloadable material
If you ask to go on to our mailing list or to download material from us, we shall ask you to complete a double opt-in to confirm that you would like us to keep your data so that we can keep you informed of future activities or publications.
How to un-subscribe
You may ask for your information/data to be deleted at any time: all our communications with mailing list subscribers will contain an un-subscribe button. This does not apply to patients as we are required by regulations of our professional bodies to keep patient records for 7 years from their last visit or, in the case of children, until they are 25.
If you are unhappy with how we use your information
If you are unhappy with how we maintain your information, first please let us know so that we can correct any mistakes.
If after that you still remain unhappy you should inform the Office of the Information Commissioner.
Changes to our policy
We reserve the right to change this information, for example if the law changes. If we do so in a material way we shall inform you if you have consented to us by communicating with you (eg by email or letter) and by placing information about the change on our site.
