If your question isn't answered on the site, ring or contact Jonathan and he may be able to prioritise it.
Probably, if you have a question, or health problem you'd like to discuss, he can help you understand it and find out what might help.

By and large, in West Edinburgh acupuncture is otherwise poorly represented. So bear in mind that we have:
You will receive his undivided attention. You will need to talk about, and show him if necessary, what hurts or troubles you. He will take careful notes (which are entirely confidential) and ask you questions.
If there's time, you would like it and it's appropriate, he can start treatment immediately. Before doing so you will be asked to sign a permission form, because that's what Jonathan is legally required to obtain before starting treatment.
You can read more about what happens during acupuncture if you click on one of the following links:
It depends. Everyone is different and so is every treatment. The treatment you receive depends on what has happened since the last treatment, and on how you are.
Very often, after you've talked about changes you've noticed since the last treatment, Jonathan will decide what to do, do the treatment, which might involve acupuncture, or cupping or a range of other ways of treating you, and then leave you to rest for a while.
During the treatment, it's absolutely fine to have a doze!
After perhaps twenty minutes he will return, remove any needles, help you get up or leave you to get ready. Then you'll make another appointment, if you need one, and off you go!
By the way, Jonathan has written several books on Chinese medicine, and has lectured on it and subjects associated with it for 30 years. See details of some of his books below.
Alternatively, ring him on 07950 012501 or freephone (only free to telephone within the UK) 0800 298 7015.
Please note! The Kindle editions are less easy to read!
I'm gradually improving this, but 'Qi Stagnation' and 'Yin Deficiency' still remain to be re-edited.
Although the paper editions cost more, they are much easier to read and to refer back and forth to the contents and index.
Here are some of the books Jonathan has written:
Still only one comment, though personally I think this is my best book so far.
Published 1986 and, amazingly, still selling. Was apparently used back then by at least one acupuncture college to help students understand Chinese medicine!
No comments yet: just published. (Despite the lurid cover, it explains the five main types of phlegm and what works best for each type. I hope it's easy to read and will be much more useful than all the websites on the subject.)
3000 years of Chinese being stressed, and at last, here's a book showing how all that experience can help you!
By the author of this website, it explains in simple English how to use stress to improve and enhance your life.
NB You can also order 'Qi Stagnation - Signs of Stress' from your bookseller.
